{Friday Night Leftovers}

  • We're currently in Peachland visiting my mom, step dad, sister and brother. I feel like we just got here and we leave in 2 days, it makes me sad. So far it's been a great trip though.
  • We have our first tooth! H spent Tuesday night screaming.. like, all.night.long... in the morning there was a wee bebe toofie! I can't believe it. She also spent all of Wednesday day, and Wednesday night screaming but yesterday and today seemed to be good.
  • She screams. The voice has been found, and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The shrieking is intense... but it's still cute and not yet annoying - I don't think that will last much longer.
  • Last week it was +25 here... we arrive and our entire stay has been cloudy and raining. Figures.
  • I've been saying this a lot and so I can't even claim I'm going to get better, but I am truly sucking at blogging these days. I find myself occupied with H lately and enjoying every moment with her. Soon I'll get back into it, I guess I'm just in a rut?
  • I love mom's cooking.
  • Baby shoes make me frustrated. I put them on, she kicks them off, I put them on, she kicks them off... repeat.repeat.put shoes in diaper bag - baby toes are cute anyways, right?
  • My sister graduates tomorrow.... I think my hair just turned grey.
Head over and check out more leftovers here

{6 Months Old}

Likes:
*Baths - these seem to be at the top of the like list every month but she just keeps loving them more and more. She splashes and gets water everywhere, now. She has also taken to sucking the water off her toes.. gross, but entertaining.
*Walks - she loves to be outside so being out for walks in her stroller has become one of her favorite things. She puts her feet up on the cross bar and lounges.
*Her Toes - we can barely keep them out of her mouth. She's always holding on to them.
*Toys - she loves to just lay and play with her toys. She's able to grab which one she wants and reaches and shuffles to get them if they're out of reach.
*Food - she's a little chubb chubb.
*Screeching - she has found her girly scream and loves to use it.. all.the.time.

Dislikes:
*Teething - maybe I dislike it more, but I can't imagine it's on her favs list, either.
*Sippy Cups - she's scared of them. haha
*Shoes - I cannot keep them on her feet!!!

Could Take it or Leave it:

*Tummy Time -- she's definitely enjoying it more these days than she used to. I think she's realized that it's how she's going to get places eventually. She gets frustrated when she tries to move and doesn't get anywhere though.
*The car - she hasn't been screaming lately but she still doesn't love it. I'll take anything but the screaming!!
*Naps - they're so hit or miss. Some days are great, some are terrible!

What Happened This Month?
*We made the switch from Lactose Free, to Soy formula. It seems to have mad a huge difference in her sleeping and attitude. I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

*We've made the switch to size 3 diapers!

*She found her voice, again. She stopped talking for about a month... now she's right back to her babbling self. I love waking up to her talking every morning.

*She sits amazing on her own. When she starts to fall over she can balance herself out and stop it from happening. I'm still nervous to walk away but if I put pillows around I do. I usually come back to her sitting in the same spot playing with her toys.. just like I left her. She gives me a look like "what? I got this!"

*She got a tooth! Yesterday (May 25th), as a matter of fact. Of course we go on vacation and she spends the entire time screaming and crying and being up all night teething... sigh.

*Speaking of Vacation - we are currently up in the Okanagan visiting my mom, step dad, sister and brother. My step dad has never met her and no one else has seen her since she was just wee (like 2 days old) so it was long over due. My sister graduates on Saturday (OMG!) and so we came up to watch. It's a 9 hour trip and Hadley was great for the entire thing. I'm hoping that the cranky pants teething baby is gone by Sunday when we have to make the drive home..

*We went swimming again, and she loved it even more than the first time. I have my fingers triple crossed that she will love the lake, too!

*I had my first Mother's Day! C had to work so it was just me and the little miss, and it was a great day :)

*She poo'd on the potty 4x. She's been having issues in the department and I just sat her on there hoping it would help and she went with no problem. She is however absolutely scared shitless to death of it. As soon as she's done pooping she loses her mind.

*She moves lots if she's left on her back. She pushes off with her heels and gets around quite quickly. On her tummy she can move a few inches but gets tired and mad that she can't go farther. She's so close to crawling and yet still refuses to roll from her back to front.

*I got her weighed 2 weeks ago and she was 16lbs 7oz and under 26" long. She's a short, chubby butt! She has her 6mo appointment when we get back to PR so I'll see how much she is then.

6 Months Olds... it never ceases to amaze me how much she changes each month. She keeps getting cuter and funnier every day!

Happy 6 Months, H. Your Mumma Loves You xo

{Friday Night Leftovers - The 'Playing Hooky' Edition}

I'm skipping Friday Night Leftovers this week... not because I have nothing to write about but because the sun in shining and the birds are chirping. My time is much better spent outside today :)

Happy Weekend, Everyone.

{Bad Hair Day}

Tasha did a Wordless Wednesday Bad Hair Day Edition and it made me giggle...  a little because Baby P is just too cute - for real, check her out - and a little because Baby H has bad hair days, too! See for yourself:

{Friday Night Leftovers}

  • I can't remember who it was that mentioned this last week, but it seems that now that I do FNLs, Friday comes around before I even know it. It's like I blink and BAM, it's Friday again.
  • July 4th will be my 2nd Anniversary - I still haven't had my wedding dress cleaned. Currently, it's in H's closet in a garbage bag... perhaps I should deal with that soon.
  • I made baby food for the first time this week. I said I'd make my own but we bought a little to begin with just to make sure she was actually into eating before I brought out the apron. When the jars we bought ran out, I busted out the food processor and she's currently enjoying homemade yams and apple sauce.
  • The Jolly Jumper made it's first appearance last weekend. It's a hit - most of the time. Sometimes she'd rather chew on the straps that jump but it helps me get a shower in at the very least!
  • The weather was great this week and went on a few walks. I can't wait for it to get nicer and nicer and then walks can become a daily thing.
  • Has anyone brought their babe to a Chiropractor? Gas is still a huge issue in H's tummy and she is still consistently fussy and seems to be getting whinier by the day. I've heard good things about it helping with colic, gas, etc., but I'm skeptical.. any thoughts?
  • I heart macaroons and banana cream pie blizzards.
  • We went swimming on Tuesday with another couple of mama's and their babies. We were in the pool for about an hour and H loved every moment of it. She's such a ham.
  • We leave for Peachland to see my mom in 18 days!!!
  • A good friend is struggling with some breastfeeding issues. She's worried she's not producing enough to satisfy her daughter and beating herself up about it. I totally understand where she's coming from because I went through so much in the beginning of H's life trying to breastfeed and it can really get you down. Why is it, that as women, we can't help but blame ourselves when things don't go the way we think they should? Sometimes things just don't go the way we want them to and it's completely out of our control. I think that's the issue.. we like to be in control.. Anyways, I guess what I'm getting at is that we've all been there and it sucks... I just want her to know she's not alone and one way or another, it will work out :)
  • C has his first baseball game on Wednesday and they won! It was nice to be out of the house (minus a clingon - she was at grammas!) and watch him play.
  • I really need to start going to sleep before 1 am. The late bedtime, plus the new 430 feed (whyyyyy!?!?!) and the early 7am wakeup call are really starting to get to me. I'm exhausted and feeling a bit under the weather. When C get's home at 5 I'm counting down the hours until it's H's bedtime and that's not how I want to spend our evenings as a family.  I think we can all benefit from earlier nights. Consider it my goal... ask me how I did next week.
You can find more leftovers HERE. Go check'em out!

{Spring has Sprung!}

Yeah, I know the first day of Spring was a couple weeks ago however, Mother Nature must have missed the memo. Fortunately, she received it a few days ago and the weather has been absolutely fabulous. Tshirt weather, even!

This weekend consisted of walks, car washing, drinks & pudgies by the campfire, baseball, Jolly Jumper'ing (outside), horse visiting, and smiles.

All around we had a fabulous weekend and I sure hope the sun sticks around!
