{7 Months Old}

Likes:
*Standing - she can be full out screaming and you stand her up and she instantly starts breathing hard with excitement and walking around. I have a very strong feeling we will be walking early.
*Baths - still a hit... I have a feeling they always will be
*Animals - she currently has an infatuation with animals and wants to pet every one she sees. She has no fear.
*Jumping - she likes when you hold her and jump up and down, or when you let her jump on the couch or bed. She hates the jolly jumper.

Dislikes:
*Teething - every tooth she gets she seems to scream for 3 days.
*Being sick - we had our first real sickness this month, it was no fun.

What Happened This Month?
*Naps may or may not have got better.. way better. Maybe.

*The top left tooth cut through! (June 24th)

*She got to "swim" (feet in!) in the ocean and the lake. She is a total water baby and loved both times. She also likes her pool. Summer is sucking this year so hopefully it stays nice enough for the lake to heat up so we can go for a REAL swim.

*We went up the lake for my birthday. It was H's very first trip and she got to squish hold a frog, see a snake, check out the waterfall (where daddy proposed!), and sleep in the cabin and of course her first boat ride, too (Ferries don't count). She did so well!

*An attitude has arrived. That is all.

*She goes up on all fours. Hands then knees, tummy off the ground. She did it the first time on June 4th and so far it's all she does. Crawling doesn't seem to appeal to her.

*She watched the Stanley Cup Finals - unfortunately The Canucks lost, even though she wore her jersey!

*She was sick. Reeeally sick. We were in Emergency two separate times, and the doctors office once. She wouldn't eat, got a rash, was taken off antibiotics just as quick as she was put on them.. it sucks. I never want to see her sick again (like that will happen).

*We went on a road trip to the Okanagan to go to see Auntie B graduate - way to make me feel old! H was such a good girl for the entire (long) day. She finally got to meet Grampa Dean while we were there and daddy got to come this time, thank goodness.. I think that trip would have been too long for just me!

*Last week she weighed in at 18lbs 12oz and 26" long. Little porkchop!

*You fiiiinally rolled from your back to your front.. and now you roll over in your crib and get mad and yell and scream. Silly girl.

So she's 7 months old.. I should probably start planning her party.

Happy 7 Months, H. Your Mumma Loves You xo

{Friday Night Leftovers}

  • Did I tell you we switch H to soy formula? It's been about a month now and I can't get over the difference in her. She's like a different baby. I am going to request that we do allergy testing on her though, because we don't actually know or real if she has an allergy to dairy/lactose. It was a trial and error thing and when it comes time to introduce dairy into her life, I don't want to substitute if not necessary.
  • H is 7oz away from doubling her birth weight of 6lbs 3oz.. that's right, she broke 18! 18lbs 2oz, as of yesterday. She is 26" long - which means she shrank... or that doctors don't know how to measure correctly, ever. I love my chunky monkey!
  • Summer has been teasing us badly. It's here for a couple days, gone for a couple days.. make up your mind. It's the middle of June for goodness sakes, the lake should be warm by now!!!
  • Speaking of the lake.. I haven't made it up there yet this year. When I was born my mom and dad left the hospital, drove to the marina and brought me to the cabin. I was up there before I was even to my own home! Hadley is almost 7 months old (holy shit...) and has yet to be there...
  • It's my Birthday next Thursday. The big 2-4. My besties are coming home from the city and I'm so excited.
  • So how 'bout them Canucks. We were so close and it all fell apart. The better team won, but we'll be back. As for Vancouver... next year will not be as fun for Canuck fans as I can guarantee after last nights antics there will be no street parties, no big screens, no parties downtown. Way to put Canada to shame, morons. It's your city and you destroyed it. I'm embarrassed.
  • H rolled from her back to front for the first time on Wednesday (June 15th). She's almost crawling, too... and so it begins, I can no longer leave and come back to a baby in the same spot.

{Thankful on Thursday}

Sometimes I complain but in all honesty, I couldn't be happier with the man I chose to marry. It doesn't get much better than him. He's an amazing father, a loving, supportive husband, and a wonderful person. It takes some people a lifetime to find 'the one', but I got lucky... I can't imagine my life without him in it and I'm thankful every day for everything he does for H and I. <3

{Never Enough}

It started when we got engaged.. it hadn't been 2 hours and the 'Congratulations' were followed by 'when's the big day' and 'what kind of flowers are you having?'.

We were married 10 months after we were engaged and before I was even out of my dress the 'Congratulations' were followed by 'when are you guys going to have a baby!?'.

We were pregnant 8 months after we were married and before I'd left the hospital the 'Congratulations' were followed by 'so when are you having another?'.

So, to answer the current question... Not for awhile. A couple years or more. I want to enjoy my baby... I want to watch her grow into her own little person, I want to work for awhile, we want to pay off some debt, maybe go on a honeymoon (already 2 years late!). We want to be a Family of 3 for awhile...

We're in no hurry, why are you?

{Friday Night Leftovers}

  • I'm back on the blogging train. I will stop promising to get better at blogging but I will promise to try my hardest. The weather has been so nice that I have been slacking but I need to make a better effort as this is basically H's baby book and if I don't deserve to have the documentation myself, she certainly deserves it.
  • On Sunday I had a dream that my computer crashed and deleted all my photos... I logged onto my Facebook to get the ones off there and someone had hacked my account and deleted them, too. When I woke up I knew that my mission for the day was to back up my pics... the last 6 months of them... all 13,978 of them... I need an intervention! How is is humanly possible to take that many pictures? For those of you that are curious, that's an average of 77 picture a day. I may be addicted to my camera - or my baby...
  • We hit up the ocean, and the lake, last weekend. Hadley put her toes in both and loved every bit. She sure is a water baby - thank goodness! I don't know what I'd do if she hated it. The lake was freezing and she still couldn't get enough.
  • Angry Birds will be the death of me.
  • The soother is now only allowed at bedtime and in the car. It hasn't been missed one bit so sooner than later it will be gone forever.
  • I officially have a Daddy's Girl. She LOVES him... and I love seeing them together. There is really nothing cuter than babies and their daddies. It melts my heart.
  • It's pretty awesome to have a group of mama's and their babies to hang with. It's even awesome'r that our babies are so close in age. These little monkeys:

have sure grown up...

  • I'm addicted to my BBQ.. I don't understand why anyone would cook food any other way?
  • I want sushi. I'm pretty sure sushi is the one thing that someone talks about and I NEED to eat it afterwards. It's all I can think about since my mom mentioned it last night. Bitch.

{Thankful on Thursday}

I read this ToT post every week and I figured I'd start to play along.

Living on the West Coast is fabulous. It's so beautiful here and I love that H has the opportunity to step foot in the ocean:

and the lake:

whenever her little heart desires. It is amazing to me that there are people out there that have never even seen the ocean, never mind touched it! We could swim in both in the same day, if we wanted... but the lake is so much better ;)

{Chomp, Chomp, Chomp}

Look what we have...

2 Teethies! The bottom right was the first to arrive, one day shy of her half birthday. The bottom left was quick to follow only 6 days later. It's been a pretty rough week and a half full of screaming all night and whining all day but we go through it.. just barely. Last night we had our first official "back to normal" sleep, thank goodness. I am not looking forward to more of this teething business!

Aren't her chompers just to die for!?
